Legal group launched supporting Freedom Flotilla victims to bring Israel to justice

International legal experts and lawyers have announced the formation of a legal group which intends to bring Israel to justice for its attack on the Freedom Flotilla in May. The founders of the Flotilla Justice Group stated that they will coordinate efforts to get justice for the victims of the 31st May Israeli attack on the international flotilla taking humanitarian aid to Gaza, and facilitate the exchange of information between lawyers working on behalf of victims around the world.

International law and human rights expert Taher Bujalal said that the Flotilla Justice Group’s efforts will not be limited to unifying legal procedures and group work for bringing Israel to justice. It will, he said, also work as a foundation for standing in the face of future Israeli violations.

The announcement of the group’s formation was made at the close of a conference organised by the Qatar-based International Fakhoura Campaign, which is committed to providing educational facilities for Palestinian students in the Gaza Strip.
