Viva Palestina enters Gaza

February 27, 2014 at 11:34 pm

MEMO sources in Gaza have confirmed the arrival of the first batch of Viva Palestina aid vehicles after an arduous journey of four weeks. Their already difficult journey had been placed under further stress due to the Egyptian government putting impossible obstacles en route to breaking the siege, including forcing the convoy to go around in full circle to reach the port of Al-Arish as well as the use of unimaginable violence when the convoy members were subjected to violent attacks by the Egyptian riot officers, with several reports of injuries and six arrests.

MEMO would also like to commend those media agencies that have covered the convoy in its entirety and highlight once again the inaction and silence of mainstream British media who failed in their duty to inform the public of an international humanitarian news item of great importance.
