Mofaz: We will declare a new war on Gaza "if necessary"

Israel’s former Defense Minister, Shaul Mofaz, has threatened to launch a new war on Gaza Strip “if necessary” at a time when the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva is discussing a report issued by the Fact-Finding Committee, headed by the Judge Richard Goldstone, who accuses Israel of committing  war crimes in Gaza.

“The army will receive orders to begin an operation similar to Cast Lead if necessary,” said Mofaz, a Knesset deputy of the opposition Kadima party, to the Hebrew Radio on October 15.

“The Western countries recognize the reasons for Israel to carry out this action,” stated Mofaz expressing his belief that these countries would “stand by our side when we address matters relating to the Cast Lead Operation.”
