Our Arab Spring will expand and spread to all the areas between the sea and the gulf. It will be a source of emulation and inspiration and will spread to the world.
It is a trademark of frustrated youth living in the state of corruption, nepotism and bribery, the state of individuals and the ruling family. The youth aspire for the state of citizens where there is partnership and a life with freedom and dignity. To achieve this, the youth ignited their revolutions and, armed with courage and boldness, took action and made sacrifices for the sake of their great dream.
This is a great generation; they desire dignity and will make sacrifices for the sake of it. Therefore, they will win, no matter how much people believe they are able to restrain their aspirations and despite the conspiracy against their holy revolutions.
Our Arab Spring will come in phases and rounds. History will not end with the rule of failing and corrupt rulers and dictators in the region; rulers who have failed to understand the people’s spring and deal with it. Instead of responding positively to the aspirations of the young people, which include making deep reforms in order to achieve a state of partnership, truth and law, they began plotting against the spring, considering it a passing phase and an act of the reckless youth that can be eliminated by a coup or by classifying them as violent terrorist groups.
Look at how the Egyptian youth have been steadfast, patient and perseverant in every arena and field for over nine months, despite all the violence and terrorism committed against them, day after day. See how the Arab Spring is resistant to being wilted or broken.
The youth’s struggle and perseverance has not and will not stop until all of their goals are achieved. Their goals are clear and so are the means of achieving them. A modern citizenship state is their goal and achieving it means taking the bullets of the thugs and the military oppression with open hearts and bare chests full of hope of realising their dream.
Victory is achieved just by having hundreds of thousands of youth armed with a dream and bravery and who are not fazed by shells and bullets, going forward with their peaceful struggle, sacrificing thousands of martyrs and even more injured and detained. This is the true challenge; the rest is just details.
Oh great Arab youth, you are teaching humanity an eloquent lesson through your unmatched legendary struggle. Mankind should be proud of you and it will be. The names of your martyrs, the wounded and detained will go down in history’s list of honours. It is you who are writing history; writers merely write what you have dictated to them on the ground.
You have presented your nation and people to the world in a different light. The world had only seen you as your corrupt rulers presented you; submissive people who lack dignity and dreams and who have settled into terrorism and savagery.
To the youth we say we will make every effort in our great peaceful struggle. The mountains may disappear, but this struggle will forever remain and the Arab Spring’s clouds will remain heavy with the rain of revolution that will fall on the thrones of tyranny. The Spring and its youth will remain. As long as a state of corruption, bribery and nepotism exists, the Spring will break out at any time and come back at any moment. Do not expect anything other than this, as the people’s will is dominant and the dreams of the youth cannot be broken.
The first and final word is up to the youth; your greatness is in your dream and it is manifested in the peacefulness of your brave struggle. You are the decision makers and you have the final say and it will not be long until you realise your dream.
With the fall of tyranny we will dry up the springs of terrorism, as tyranny and terrorism are two sides of the same coin; every terrorist is a tyrant and every tyrant is a terrorist. We know this very well and we seek to overthrow them both through our great peaceful fight.
Oh world! We are the youth of the Arab Spring and we have one dream, one means and one struggle; peaceful revolutions that will continue to go on until we are victorious.
