Turkey has pledged to provide “mobile homes” to house Palestinian families displaced by a deadly Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian minister said Saturday.

“We have received pledges to provide us with mobile homes to house the displaced families,” Minister of Public Works and Housing Mufeed al-Hassayna told Anadolu Agency.

He said that his ministry has asked for 3500 mobiles homes to be allowed into the Gaza Strip.

At least 1915 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 10000 others injured in relentless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since July 7, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The offensive has also destroyed hundreds of homes in the blockaded Palestinian territory.

According to the Euro-mid Observatory for Human Rights, around 475000 Palestinians have been displaced by the Israeli attacks.

Al-Hassayna said that donors have offered $65 million to the U.N. refugee agency UNRWA for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

“Turkey was one of the donors for the Gaza reconstruction,” he said.

The Gaza Strip, home to 1.8 million Palestinians, has been reeling under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2006, badly affecting livelihoods in the seaside enclave.
