Israel prosecutes eight Palestinian women

October 23, 2014 at 12:00 pm

Eight Palestinian women have gone on trial in Israel after being detained yesterday while they left Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to an Alresalah correspondent, Israel held a session this morning to prosecute the women who were arrested after noon prayers yesterday accusing them of attacking Israeli forces.

Mays Al-Assad, Nevin Al-Masri and Faiza Karaeen were amongst those arrested.

Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, condemned the arrest, prosecution and assault of these women and other worshipers by Israeli police at the doors of the mosque.

He said: “Look at these dangerous practices that aim to empty Al-Aqsa Mosque of worshipers and those taking part in the sit-ins and intend to scare them, especially to stop women from returning to Al-Aqsa Mosque, as they intervened to prevent the arrest of two girls.”

The city of Jerusalem is witnessing violent clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces, after a Jerusalemite was killed.
