Ambulance and civil defence crews recovered the body of a Palestinian on Monday from underneath the rubble of a mosque in the central Gaza Strip, 78 days after Israeli aircrafts first bombed that mosque during the latest war, Anadolu news agency reported.

Family and medical sources told Anadolu that the civil defence crews found the body of Palestinian citizen Zuhdi Abu Al-Ros under the rubble of Al-Qassam Mosque in Nuseirat, in central Gaza Strip, 78 days after the bombing of the mosque during the recent Israeli war.

Sources said that Abu Al-Ros’s body was decomposed.

On 9 August 2014, Israeli warplanes extensively bombed the Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving the area almost completely destroyed.

Israel launched a war on the Gaza Strip on 7 July, which lasted for 51 days, killing over 2,100 Palestinians and wounding 11,000 others, mostly civilians.

The 51-day war on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip completely destroyed 9,000 homes, in addition to another 8,000 that were partially destroyed, according to the statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
