Badei: I'm proud I agreed with Palestinian resistance against Israel

January 12, 2015 at 4:15 pm

Supreme Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badei said yesterday that he is “proud” that he agreed with Palestinian factions on resistance against the Zionist enemy, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed website reported.

Speaking in court, Badie said: “I am proud of meeting Palestinian factions in the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood and agreeing with them to resist the Zionist enemy.”

“I am accused of 41 charges and all of them are fake. They are all for the military coup regime to seek revenge from me and from anyone who took part in the January 25 revolution.”

Badei said the meetings were in Egypt’s favour and that the recent campaign against the Muslim Brotherhood is not really to tackle the Brotherhood itself, but Islam as a religion.

“When our offices were scorched after the incitement of certain mass media, we did not kill anyone,” he said, “but many of us were killed.”

He said fake accusations are one of the strangest things he saw in his life. “My mother was insulted during my arrest and I was blindfolded. My soul is a sacrifice for the sake of Egyptians and Egypt.”

With reference to the judiciary, he said: “Morsi wanted to defend the judiciary.”

The Judge then heckled him: “He wanted to arrest us.”

He replied: “Morsi sought the independence of the judiciary and fought for this before the revolution and after he became president. The judges witnessed this and there is a video which proves this from when he was an MP.”

“I am proud that I am Egyptian and my president is Mohamed Morsi.”
