Djibouti's foreign minister demanded the African Union (AU) take strong and clear decisions in favour of the Palestinian cause.
The comments came during a closeddoor session of the AU's Ministerial Council held on Tuesday, during which a draft resolution on Palestine was discussed.
A source who took part in the meeting told Anadolu Agency that the demands made by Djibouti's Foreign Minister Mahmoud Yousef constituted the strongest position in support of the Palestine cause.
"There was a nearconsensus on the resolutions and recommendations on Palestine that will be submitted to the summit scheduled to be held next Friday and Saturday in Addis Ababa," the source said.
The source added that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will speak at the opening session of the upcoming summit.
