ISIS executes four people in Mosul

March 14, 2015 at 12:43 pm

The media has reported that ISIS has executed four of its members in the Iraqi city of Mosul. According to Anadolu, the four were beheaded in public by an executioner wielding a sword.

Senior police officer Ahmed Al-Jabouri said that the four were killed after being charged with theft, murder and blackmail. He said that the executions took place in front of a large crowd. A local citizen, who only gave his name as Tahseen for fear of ISIS reprisals, said that the corpses were left in the street so that even more people would see them.

According to Tahseen, an ISIS official read out the charges against the men before they were killed. Two were accused of looting, a third was accused of stealing gold from a woman and then killing her, and the fourth was accused of exploiting his position within ISIS.

No details were given about the identities of the people killed and it was impossible to speak to ISIS about the incident to obtain additional information.
