July 1, 2015 at 12:01 pm

Egyptian writer and novelist Alaa Al-Aswany has been threatened with arrest by a supporter of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Almesryoon.com reported on Tuesday.

Posting on his Twitter, Al-Aswany wrote: “One of the regime journalists, who supports Al-Sisi, threatened me to be arrested [sic] after [I made] a call for justice to be fulfilled.”

He added: “Has calling for justice become a crime? I do not accept this and do not fear prison. I will continue writing about what I believe in.”

Previously, Al-Aswany tweeted: “Puppets and regime journalists are beating war drums and calling for the immediate killing of everyone. Oh, brigade of destruction, where are you leading us? The solution is not in killing, but achieving justice.”
