July 7, 2015 at 11:44 am

A Jordanian State Security Court has imposed a gag order regarding the publication of information about the alleged “Iranian terrorist plot” foiled on Monday, Quds Press reported.

According to the official Jordanian news agency, the Jordanian security forces foiled an Iranian terrorist plot after arresting a man armed with 45kg of explosives two weeks ago.

Government newspaper Al-Ra’y reported that 49-year-old Khaled Al-Rubia, who holds Norwegian and Iraqi passports, was arrested with the explosives and that he was planning to carry out a “terrorist attack” in the country.

It is said that Al-Rubia, who is a member of Iran’s elite Fayaliq Al-Quds forces, had entered Jordan from Syria, where Iran is a significant player in the conflict against rebels seeking to overthrow President Assad

The State Security Court held the first hearing in the Al-Rubia case on Monday, in which it accused him of owning explosive material and planning to carry out terrorist attack in Jordan.
