Israeli soldier critically wounds teenage Palestinian girl

A Palestinian teenager is in critical condition after being shot in the leg in Hebron this morning.

Hadeel Salah Hashlamoun, 18, was shot on her way to college she allegedly tried to stab a soldier. The soldier was not injured.

Israeli forces also shot dead Diyaa Abdul-Halim Talahmah, 21, during an Israeli dawn raid near the southern Hebron village of Khursa.

Talahmah intended to toss an explosive device at a military vehicle before he was shot multiple times, the Israeli army said.

In a statement issued today, Hamas condemned the Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians affirming the willingness of the Palestinian people to respond to the Israeli violations against humanity.

Hamas also called on the international community to hold the Zionist entity responsible and accountable for its crimes against Palestinians.

Israeli forces have killed at least 24 Palestinians since the beginning of 2015, according to UN figures.

UPDATE at 15.16 GMT

Hadeel Hashlamoun has now died from her injuries.

In a statement the hospital said: “The young Palestinian woman who arrived this morning to the hospital’s headquarters in Jerusalem, suffering from a very serious injury, died from her wounds this afternoon.”
