Russian warplanes kill 56 civilians in Homs

Russian warplanes killed 56 civilians yesterday during airstrikes against the Syrian opposition stronghold of Homs, local sources told the Anadolu Agency.

According to the sources, 35 people were killed in the village of Al-Ghantu, 15 in Teir Maalah and six in the city of Talbiseh.

The same sources said the opposition groups were able to repel regime forces who tried to enter the area.

Regime ground offensive commander Brigadier Maan Al-Deeb was killed during the fighting while some regime weapons were destroyed.

Media sites close to the regime announced the death of Brigadier Al-Deeb saying he was killed during battles near Teir Maalah.
