A Palestinian women shot in an Israeli bus station earlier this month is expected to be released without charge this week, Israeli Channel 2 reported yesterday.

A Justice Ministry investigation into the shooting of mother of three Israa Abed, 29, showed she did not intend to carry out a stabbing attack before she was repeatedly shot by Israeli soldiers.

Is this the Third Intifada?

Rising tensions in the Occupied Territories have led to dozens of deaths and hundreds of clashes.

“Police proved what I have been saying from the beginning, Israa is an educated young woman who aims to serve the community, and who did not intend to harm anyone,” Abed’s father, Zeidan Abed, said.

Channel 2 also reported that no action will be taken against the Israeli officers who shot the young woman.

Palestinian Member of the Knesset Yousef Jabareen said the decision not to take action against the Israeli officers allows police to shoot Palestinians indiscriminately.

Abed was shot and injured on 9 October.
