Iran has accepted Russia’s proposal to set up a joint bank to finance investment projects, the Deputy Co-Chair of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission Mehdi Mohtashemi has revealed.
Mohtashemi told Russian news agency RIA Novosti on Wednesday that: “This could happen soon. It depends on technical details and the ways they could be resolved.”
Mohtashemi said the initial capital for the Russian-Iranian bank would be $500 million.
The Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced earlier in October that Tehran and Moscow were planning to set up a joint bank.
