The Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat said yesterday that the international Quartet Committee did not come up with any new initiative to stop Israeli violations against Palestinians during its meeting with the Palestinian leadership on Wednesday evening.
Erekat told Voice of Palestine radio that the Quartet stressed its full commitment to fulfill its obligations towards the Palestinians, including the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.
Erekat also said the Palestinian leadership demanded that the Quartet put an end to daily Israeli daily aggression agains Palestinians, including executions, the confiscation of land, the demolition of homes and the setting up checkpoints in various areas of the occupied West Bank.
“It is time to try Israel for its crimes against the Palestinian people,” Erekat added, stressing that Israel has made use of security solutions as a tool to punish the Palestinians.
