Egypt yesterday received three new Rafale fighter jets from France, the state-run MENA news agency said citing an army spokesman.
Brigadier General Mohamed Samir said in a statement that “the deal includes handing Egypt 24 Rafale warplanes and a FREMM multi-mission frigate”, it was signed in February last year.

Egypt already received three Rafale fighter jets in July; the remaining 18 will be delivered in batches within the next two years.
MENA quoted an Egyptian military source as saying that the fighters represent a quantum leap in increasing the capacity of the armed forces to carry out its tasks in support of efforts towards security and stability in the Middle East.
