Iran’s Vice President, Isaac Jhangere, said on Monday that the visit of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to Tehran is a “milestone in developing economic, diplomatic and cultural ties,” Anadolu has reported.

Jhangere made his remarks during a press conference held after a closed meeting between delegations from both countries. Three memorandums were signed, he added, providing a “road map” for reinforcing relations between the two countries.

According to Anadolu, the documents cover the development of mutual relations, reinforcing political cooperation and waiving entry visas for diplomatic passport holders.

Describing the discussions as “positive” the Iranian official noted that they covered issues such as energy, oil and gas, petrochemicals, sea and road transport, shipping and scientific and cultural cooperation.

Tsipras and the political, economic and commercial delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday. He had two closed meetings with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the Chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran, former President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
