Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes have targeted four Syrian field hospitals in the countryside of Daraa Governorate, forcing them to stop operating, Anadolu reported on Wednesday.
According to Anadolu, Russian warplanes targeted a field hospital in Daraa’s Western Ghariyeh causing much damage and completely destroying the medicine supply. Following the attack, the hospital announced it could no longer offer its services.
The Turkish news agency did not provide details regarding the fourth hospital, but reported that Syrian regime forces targeted another unnamed hospital in Daraa, causing a number of deaths and injuries. The two hospitals also announced they were unable to provide services to patients.
Anadolu reported Doctor Mohamed al-Saleh saying that a number of other field hospitals have suspended their work after receiving information that they could be targeted.
He added: “The Russian and Syrian airstrikes against these hospitals coincided with the military escalation by the regime forces and Hezbollah on Daraa fronts.” These hospitals are running with a moderate capacity and there is no efficient hospital in the governorate able to receive ten cases at the same time, he said.
