MSF condemns Syria hospital bombing

February 16, 2016 at 10:47 am

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) yesterday condemned the bombing of a hospital it supports in the northern Syrian city of Idlib, where at least seven people were killed.

The organisation said in a statement that the clinic had been struck by four projectiles within a few minutes and was subsequently destroyed.

“This is a deliberate attack against a health establishment. The destruction of this hospital deprives about 40,000 people of healthcare in this conflict zone,” said Massimiliano Rebaudengo, MSF head of mission.

The organisation did not include information about who carried out the attack, but said the hospital was destroyed after being hit by four missiles following two attacks.

The hospital included 30 beds and employed 54 medical cadres.
