Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir yesterday accused Russia and the Syrian Air Force of violating the ceasefire in Syria, noting that Riyadh is discussing the matter with world powers.
“There are violations to the ceasefire from Russian and Syrian regime aircrafts. We are discussing this with the Syria Support Group, co-chaired by Russia and the United States,” Al-Jubeir told reporters during a joint press conference with visiting Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Jensen in Riyadh.
Al-Jubeir said countries supporting the Syrian opposition had an “alternative plan” that does not include Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad if the truce failed, referring to US Secretary of State John Kerry’s comments on Tuesday about a “Plan B”.
He explained that if the truce is implemented properly, “we will be able to allow humanitarian aid to enter all areas in Syria.”
