March 8, 2016 at 12:14 pm

Israeli border guards opened fire on Tuesday morning at a Palestinian woman at the Al-Qatanin gate of Al-Aqsa Mosque, leaving her bleeding to death, Safa news agency reported.

According to Safa, Israeli border guards shot the Palestinian woman in the head and the chest, claiming she attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at the scene.

Safa reported that the woman was left bleeding to death. A reporter from the news agency present at the scene said that Israeli soldiers prevented medical assistance reaching her.

Palestinian sources identified the woman as Fadwa Mohamed Abu-Teir, 50, from the town of Sur Baher on the south-eastern outskirts of East Jerusalem.

An eyewitness said that the woman did not have a knife and did not attempt to stab the soldier. The eyewitness said that the only thing she did was fail to stop walking when soldiers tried to prevent her from going through the gate.
