Israeli official: Negotiations are not on the agenda

March 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm

Negotiations with the Palestinians are not currently on the Israeli government’s agenda, an official revealed yesterday.

Deputy Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Hotovely told a local radio station that “the negotiation process with the Palestinians is not on the agenda of the state of Israel at this stage.”

She added that the government is fighting to stop Palestinian attacks, and also to strengthen its political standing in the world.

The Israeli-Palestinian negotiations stalled in April 2014 after Israel refused to halt settlement activity, adopt the two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, and release Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails as was previously agreed.
