Russian, Chinese and Iranian companies are likely to rebuild war-torn Syria when the war ends, Syrian regime President Bashar Al-Assad said according to AlKhaleejOnline.

Speaking to the Russian news agency Novosti and newspaper Sputnik, Al-Assad said: “Rebuilding [Syria] is a profitable process in all cases for the companies which take part in it; particularly, the companies who will get loans from donor countries.”

“Of course, we expect to concentrate on three countries. The countries which stood beside Syria throughout the crisis: Russia, China and Iran.”

“I do not expect countries that stood against Syria to benefit… We are looking forward to seeing friendly countries only and all Russian companies taking part in this process.”

Last month, Al-Assad called for parliamentary elections in a measure opposing the international peace plan based on an international resolution. His main ally, Russia, criticised him for this call.

The international plan stipulates the formation of a transitional government after six months of talks. Then, a new constitution would be drawn up and preparations for parliamentary and presidential elections would be made at the end of the transitional period.
