Qatari-Turkish relations are ‘strategic and sophisticated’

Qatar’s Chief of General Staff, Major General Ghanem Bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem has described relations between his country’s armed forces and the Turkey as “strategic, vital and sophisticated”.

Speaking during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) 2016, Al-Ghanem said Turkey’s participation in the exhibition was very important for its success.

“All the companies that participated from Turkey are important to us, and we have invited them to participate in the next edition in 2018,” he said.

During the exhibition, the Qatari Navy signed a $46.6 million deal with Turkish company, Yonca Onuc (J.V.), for the purchase of six fast interceptor vessels.
