Qatar prevents Egyptian officer from setting foot on Qatari soil

April 7, 2016 at 11:11 am

Qatari authorities have denied the entrance of an Egyptian officer on board of a Qatari ship after he lost his passport, AlMesryoon.com reported on Wednesday.

Reports said that a travel document was issued to Tamer Abdullah, a naval officer who works on a Qatari ship which travels between the UAE and Qatar, to return back to Egypt but Qatar refused to allow him to step on Qatari soil.

The Egyptian Minister of Workforce Mohamed Safan has asked the workers’ consultant in the Egyptian consulate in Doha to sort out the problem so the officer can return to Egypt.

The minister said the Head of the Egyptian Delegation in Qatar Ihab Abdul-Hamid has formed a task group to follow the situation closely and secure the return of Abdullah to Egypt.
