Rights group warns of increased Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa

The UK-based Arab Organisation for Human Rights has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to increase efforts to stop Israeli crimes against Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“These crimes have stripped Jerusalem residents away from any viable resources to live in the city while the demolition of houses, confiscation of identity cards and closure of relief and social institutions continue without any deterrent,” the organisation said in a statement yesterday.

It called on the United Nations secretary-general to present the Israeli occupation’s crimes in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque before the Security Council since all evidence indicates that the occupation wants to judaise the Muslim holy site.

Israeli police have exploited the Jewish holidays to intensify raids on Al-Aqsa, the organisation said.

“The past three days have witnessed intensified incursions accompanied by dances and prayers under the Israeli occupation forces’ protection and when Muslim worshipers and mosque guards tried to stop them, the occupation forces assaulted them and injured many of them.”
