Israel exchanges intelligence information with both Egypt and Jordan and there is a high level of cooperation among them in their war against Islamic jihadists, Arabi21 reported yesterday.

Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Yair Golan said that Tel Aviv is providing intelligence to Egypt and Jordan to counter Islamic jihadists on their lands.

Israeli daily Haaretz reported Golan saying that the Israeli information provided plays a “decisive and basic role in enabling Egypt and Jordan to face the threats of jihadist groups, namely Daesh.”

Golan said the current cooperation is “unprecedented”, reiterating that the relationship with Cairo and Amman is “stable despite all the challenges facing the regimes of both countries.”

Haaretz noted that Jordan had decided to cancel the installation of cameras in Al-Aqsa Mosque “due to its surprise with the angry reaction across the [occupied] Palestinian territories.”

Regarding the relationship with the Palestinian Authority (PA), Haaretz’s said that the security cooperation between Israel and the PA “has never been better than how it is today.”
