A Yemeni government committee which monitors the truce in the country said that Houthi rebels and forces loyal to them have committed 217 violations of the ceasefire agreement on Sunday across the country.
Yemen’s News Agency, SABA, said the committees documented more than 200 violations during the day; 80 of them in Taiz province; center.
According to the committee, the rebels committed three violations including the shelling of the Popular Resistance sites with Katyusha rockets and mortar in Bayda province, while the province of Lahij, South has seen heavy shelling against the army and the resistance sites.
The committees also documented 117 violations against military and resistance sites with rocket-propelled grenades in several areas in Al-Jawf province bordering Saudi Arabia in northern Yemen.
Additionally, there were 21 violations in the eastern Marib province and four violations in the southern Dalea province.
The Yemeni government delegation to the peace talks held in Kuwait decided on Sunday to suspend its participation until further notice.
A source who preferred not to be named told Anadolu news agency that the government delegations decision came as a result of the Houthis mounting military actions across Yemen.
Kuwait has been hosting talks between the warring Yemeni parties for more than a week, under the auspices of the UN in an effort to end the crisis in the country which resulted in the deaths of many civilians.
