During a meeting with the President of the Republic of Senegal Macky Sall, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki commented on the French initiative, saying that it “comes after over 23 years of political negotiations without achieving positive results”.

He added that the failure of negotiations is “prompting us to look for a new way to solve the Palestinian issue”.

Al-Maliki talked with the Senegalese president about providing international protection for the Palestinian people, which will be discussed in the UN Security Council.

He also expressed the Palestinian Authority’s support for Senegal joining the G-20 if it desires.

During the meeting, the Senegalese president reiterated his support for Palestine and the struggle of its people, expressing his desire to accept an invitation from PA President Mahmoud Abbas to visit Palestine before the end of this year.
