May 10, 2016 at 10:51 am

The Turkish military has launched a military operation with the support of international coalition forces to establish a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border.

Turkish Yeni Safak newspaper said the operation aims to empty an area that is 18km long and 8km deep in Jarablus region of Daesh militants who launch shells against the Turkish city of Kilis.

The newspaper said the operation will be supported by the international coalition, particularly the United States and Germany.

According to the plan, the Turkish army will strike the militant group with artillery shells and guided missiles and mortars.

Turkey has stepped up its operations against the organization over the past few days.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Tuesday announced that Ankara will deploy a US-made rocket launcher system near the border with Syria.
