The Israeli army announced yesterday that it is strengthening its forces in the West Bank after the killing of four Israelis and the wounding of nine others in an attack on Tel Aviv on Wednesday evening.
In a written statement, Israeli army spokesman Ovijaa Odraei said: “We have decided to strengthen the existing number of military forces in the West Bank by an additional two battalions,” the decision was with immediate effect.
The Israeli army did not disclose the number of troops that are already in the West Bank.
On Wednesday evening, two Palestinian citizens opened fire at a restaurant in Tel Aviv, killing four Israelis and wounding nine others. The operation is the largest of its kind since the beginning of the Jerusalem Intifada last October.
