The Shia Iraqi militia of Harakat Al-Nujaba has increased the number of its fighters in Syria to 8,000, it revealed yesterday.

Reuters reported Harakat Al-Nujaba’s spokesman saying the group “sent more than 1,000 extra fighters to southern parts of Aleppo over the past two days to reinforce its positions.”

The militia had announced on its official page on 7 August that it sent 2,000 fighters to Aleppo, raising the number of its fighters in Syria to more than 7,000 at the time.

Yesterday’s announcement brings the total number of fighters in Syria to around 8,000. They are fighting alongside the Syrian regime’s army.
