The UAE and the Vatican have today agreed mutual exemptions of visa requirements for those holding diplomatic and special passports.

The UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States Paul Gallagher.

During his visit to the Vatican, Al Nahyan met with Pope Francis. He said: “There is a pressing need for stronger cooperation between countries and organisations to formulate policies that promote values of tolerance and dialogue and constructive communication between civilisations.”
