Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has approved the ownership of land and three villas in Naama Bay Resort in Sharm El Sheikh by the King of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa. The details were revealed in the official Egyptian Gazette, which pointed out that a decree was issued after the approval of the defence and interior ministries, the General Intelligence Directorate (GID), the Sinai Development Agency and the Cabinet.

The decree stipulated that the Bahraini monarch will be treated as an Egyptian citizen, in accordance with the provisions of law number 14 of 2012 on the Sinai Peninsula’s integrated development. This decree was amended by law number 95 of 2015 which stated that he will own the land and buildings for the villas in the resort in South Sinai Governorate, for residential purposes.

During King Hamad’s visit to Egypt last April, the two countries signed 15 new cooperation agreements in various fields, including defence, media, agriculture, health, endowments, diplomatic cooperation, tourism, higher education, international and maritime navigation and the environment.
