Members of the Palestine Committee at the Parliament of Bahrain met with Palestinian MPs in Gaza during a video conference on Sunday, AlKhaleejonline.com has reported. “This meeting proves Bahrain’s concern with the Palestinian cause and its support for the Palestinians,” said Marwan Abu-Ras of the Change and Reform bloc in the Palestinian parliament.

Abu-Ras told his Bahraini counterparts about the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as a result of the ten-year Israeli blockade. “The Israeli siege is being increased,” he said, pointing out that the Israeli occupation authorities have aggravated the electricity crisis and stopped patients from travelling abroad for treatment. “There is a serious shortage of medicines and specialist doctors here,” he explained.

The Palestinian MPs also provided details of Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem. The Noble Sanctuary has been subject to “a continuous Judaisation campaign” by the Israeli occupation government.

The Chairman of the Palestine Committee in Bahrain, Mohamed Al-Emadi, said that all of the political factions and religious sects in his country support the Palestinians and their cause in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Jerusalem. “We are currently working on three priorities: the suffering of Jerusalem, the Gaza siege and resisting normalisation [with Israel] in Bahrain and the Gulf States,” he added.
