Hasan Hariri, one of Syria’s most respected doctors, has died in a suspected regime bombing whilst tending to an injured opposition soldier in Dara’a on Sunday, the New Arab reported.

Forty-six-year-old Hariri had treated hundreds of people injured in the war in Syria since it began in 2011 and saved the lives of many. He refused to leave his hometown, Busra Al-Hariri, and along with other doctors he established field hospitals to treat the wounded

In 2014, Hariri returned home to find his children wrapped in shrouds after the regime dropped a barrel bomb on his home and killed his wife and seven of his children. Two children survived the attack.

“Doctor Hariri joined the revolution in the very beginning and dedicated his efforts to help victims of the war.”
