The Court of Appeal in Salé, Rabat, held a new hearing yesterday in the trial of 25 Sahrawis accused of killing 11 Moroccan security personnel in 2010, according to sources.

The trial related to the events of 8 November 2010 when the soldiers were killed in the Gdim Izik refugee camp outside the city of Laayoune, the largest province of Western Sahara.

This week’s sessions will discuss the content of the accusations after previous hearings focused on the origins of the proceedings and questioning of the accused.

On Monday, the court was shown the items which were seized from the defendants, most notably a number of sharp weapons, mobile phones and money
