Houthi fighters and the Yemeni Republican Guard entered the Saudi Arabian village of Mujazah and attacked an army barracks, reported Al-Masdar.

The Yemeni forces loyal to President Ali Abdullah Saleh fired upon the Saudi barracks, destroying military equipment and a vehicle carrying Saudi soldiers. A military source confirmed that the vehicle was destroyed and soldiers were killed.

Houthi forces regularly conduct incursions into Saudi Arabian territory, killing soldiers and undermining the territorial sovereignty of Saudi Arabia. Earlier this month, the Houthi group captured a Saudi military base in Raboah in the Asir province.

Saudi Arabia has intensified surveillance of its southern border with Yemen and conduct airstrikes and military patrols to ward off potential attacks.
