A bomb in north Yemen has killed six civilians and injured fifteen others, Reuters has reported. The deadly attack took place in Al-Hazm on Thursday night, where the bombers planted an improvised explosive device in a busy local market whilst locals were shopping during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Northern Yemen is controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels. The country’s civil war has taken a turn for the worse since the March 2015 intervention of a Saudi-led coalition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, although so-called Islamic State in Yemen and Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula regularly use such devices in their terrorist operations.
