A Qatari businessman is drawing plans to airlift 4,000 cows into Qatar in a bid to maintain milk supplies midst of an Arab siege, reported the Guardian.

The delivery would take up to 60 flights said Moutaz Al-Khayyat, chairman of International Holding. Khayyat originally planned to ship the cows for a dairy facility in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The gulf neighbours; Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain severed diplomatic ties with Qatar last week, accusing the oil-rich state of supporting extremism and terrorism. A charge Qatar vehemently denies.

Qatar relied heavily on gulf neighbours for dairy imports and other fresh foods. Turkey and Iran have since began supplying Qatar with food.
