AQAP, which claimed responsibility for the attack, targeted the United Arab Emirates (UAE) supported Hadrami Elite Forces’ army camp with two explosive vehicles. Local sources said two vehicles exploded near the camp and gun-fire was exchanged in the attack.

The attack took place near the town of Bedha, in the oil producing province of Hadramout.

One AQAP fighter was killed in the attack.

This comes after the Daily Beast website published an investigation accusing the UAE- backed Elite Forces of abducting and torturing civilians whilst imprisoning them in secret cells.
