Several Iranian cities have witnessed funerals for the bodies of 14 fighters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who were killed during clashes in Syria.
Local media reported yesterday that the militants were from Afghanistan and were buried in the Iranian cities of Khorasan, Qom, Tehran, Alborz, Fars and Isfahan.
The sources added that the fighters belonged to the Fatemiyoun Brigade – an affiliate of IRGC which recruits Afghani nationals.

No details were given sa to when the fighters were killed or how.
Since 2011, Tehran has been supporting the Syrian regime headed by President Bashar Al-Assad, supplying his troops with “Iranian military advisers” as well as “volunteer fighters” from Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan.
