Jordan insists on prosecuting the Israeli embassy guard who killed two Jordanians in Amman recently, Quds Press reported on Sunday. An Israeli source said that the Hashemite Kingdom is looking at possible “diplomatic options” in this regard.

According to Ynet News, tension between Israel and Jordan on this issue is ongoing. However, the Israeli Public Prosecutor is looking at the matter.

Jordanian Government Spokesman Mohamed Al-Momani told Reuters on Friday that the possibility of Israel opening an investigation into the incident is a step in the right direction. Jordan, he added, still expects a full and orderly legal inquiry, as required by international law.

Meanwhile, Ynet News also reported the Jordanian Rai Al-Youm’s claim on Sunday morning that the Kingdom is undertaking a tripartite offensive against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The first step in this is to brief US President Donald Trump about Netanyahu’s handling of the embassy affair and how he tried to influence public opinion. The second part of the plan is to put pressure on Israel throughout King Abdullah’s visit to Ramallah today, Monday. The third part is Jordan’s intention to relay a message to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, warning him of an “Israeli plot to spoil the cards.”
