Israel confiscates $28,000 from families of Palestinian martyrs

August 16, 2017 at 10:35 am

Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, Shin Bet, confiscated 100,000 shekels ($28,000) yesterday from the families of Palestinian martyrs killed by the occupation security forces, Quds Net has reported. Shin Bet claimed that the money was sent by Hamas from the Gaza Strip to the families of Palestinians who attacked Israeli targets.

In another operation on the same night, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated an unidentified sum of money from the mother of the Palestinian martyr Tariq Abu Arafa, who was killed by the Israelis in 1994.

This is not the first time that Israel has taken money from martyrs’ families on the pretext that it was sent to them by Hamas. The families involved have denied repeatedly that the resistance movement was the source of the money.
