A US Black Hawk helicopter crashed Friday evening off the southern coast of Yemen, and search is ongoing for a service member missing, the U.S. Central Command announced Saturday.
The helicopter crashed about 20 miles (32 km) off the southern coast of Yemen at 7 p.m. (1600 GMT) during a military training in the area, CENTCOM said in a statement.
Five other service members aboard the aircraft were rescued after the crash, the statement added.
The reason behind the accident is unclear.
