A majority of Turkey’s exports to Qatar included marine and animal products to the value of $8.6 million while exports in the electrical and electronic services sector reached $8 million.

The head of Turkey’s Federation of Fisheries Exporters, Sinan Qazlatan said:

Trade fairs have contributed to establishing close relations between Turkish and Qatari companies and building new horizons of trade cooperation.

The rise of Turkish exports to Qatar coincides with a blockade imposed on Doha by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt on 5 June. The four states severed diplomatic ties with Qatar and began an economic blockade against the Gulf state.
