Israeli sources have reported that Israeli warplanes attacked targets surrounding the Damascus airport in the Syrian capital this morning.

The Israeli attack was met with anti-aircraft gunfire, the sources added.

The reports quoted Syrian media outlets allegedly close to the Syrian regime saying that the Israeli warplanes attacked a weapons warehouse near Damascus.

According to the Israeli media, the Syrian media also reported that the Israeli planes carried out three attacks on the warehouse near the capital as part of its efforts to stop weapons shipments from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon. They reported that no Syrians were harmed and that a lot of smoke has surrounded the area.

The Israeli media also reported that the Israeli warplanes flew over Lebanon at a high and medium altitude.

Syrian officials have not yet confirmed the reports.
