Scores of Syrian regime forces killed in 24 hours

Scores of Syrian regime forces were killed in 24 hours as they failed to break into bases held by the armed Syrian opposition to the east of Damascus, as well as in ISIS attacks carried out in Homs and Deir al-Zour countryside.

According to reports from the Homs Information Centre and IS’s news agency Amaq 100 members of the regime forces were killed in the failed attack on the opposition bases.

According to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, local sources announced that they had lost contact with a group of regime forces on Thursday after ISIS attacks in the outskirts of Al-Sukhna city.

Activist Khalid al-Homsi, a member of Tadmor Cooperation Group, told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that 70 regime soldiers were killed in an ambush by ISIS on the Tadmor-Sukhna highway.

Local sources also reported that 15 Syrian regime soldiers were killed, including a senior commander in the countryside of Deir al-Zour.

Likewise, Deiri News Network reported that another13 regime soldiers were also killed in suicide attacks carried out by ISIS in the north of Deir al-Zour.
